DESCRIPTION:Hello Cat Stream Stewards! \nWe are looking for volunteers for our restoration work party on Saturday September 27 (the day before River’s Day) from 10am – 12pm at our Pine Street restoration site. Come out on the 27th and celebrate Rivers Day by helping this urban stream continue to support salmonid species like Coho and Cutthroat trout. \nMeet us at 10am. Tools and gloves will be provided\, but you can always bring your own if you prefer (just add some sort of label so it’s clearly marked as yours).We will have snacks and coffee. \nPlease RSVP to stewardship@nalt.bc.ca to let us know if you plan to attend so we can be sure to have enough of everything!  We hope to see you there! \n

We will be clearing the vegetation from a weedy boulevard to prep the site for a mix of native shrubs and herbaceous plants. All tools will be provided! \nWhen: Saturday Aug 30 10am – 12pm\nWhere: Needham and Haliburton\, Nanaimo\nRSVP: stewardship@nalt.bc.ca\, please let us know you will be coming so we can be sure to have enough tools for everyone \nThis project is the brainchild of a Needham St neighbour\, who wants her neighbourhood to be beautiful AND provide ecosystem function. If you are keen to start a project like this in your neighbourhood\, connect with us and we will support you in the steps of project design\, securing funding\, building partnerships and getting permissions\, workparty organization for site prep and planting\, and site maintenance. \nNot able to make this work party\, but want to help out with this project? We will have two more work parties this fall\, so keep a lookout for those notices!
