Memberships & Donations
Since its beginning in 1995, the Nanaimo & Area Land Trust has protected 871 hectares or 2,152 acres of habitat through direct acquisition and covenants! We rely on the support of our members and donors to help us continue to protect precious habitat and build a culture of stewardship for future generations.
Become a Member
It really does make a difference! The income generated by memberships is a significant part of NALT’s revenues each year – a component that we count on to meet our budget requirements and to maintain NALT’s programs and services ($10 for seniors & students, $20 for regular membership, $50 for businesses). Annual memberships are automatically included with donations of $20 or more ($10 for seniors & students).
Can I Donate Online?
Yes, it’s very easy. Scoll down to view the online donation form right here on this page. Donations made online through our partner charity Canada Helps are received by NALT and Canada Helps will issue you a charitable tax receipt for your generousity.
Can I donate by phone, by mail or in person?
Yes to all of the above! You can fill in and print our DONATION FORM and email it, mail it or drop it off with your contribution. If you choose to stop by the Stewardship Centre in person, please call ahead – sometimes we are out in the field and not in the office. If you prefer, call our office and a staff member will be happy to process your credit card payment over the phone.
Join our Monthly Giving Program
Of NALT’s more than 400 members, about 130 so far have made the switch to monthly giving. This represents about $30,000 a year that NALT can count on – which is a significant portion of NALT’s annual programs budget! It’s easy to join.
Contact us to pre-authorize a regular withdrawal from your account or credit card for as little as $5 a month or if you prefer, fill in and download our MONTHLY GIVING FORM and mail it to our office. You can also sign up online for the Monthly Giving Program by scrolling down to the donation form further down this page and select the Donate Monthly button.
A monthly donation assures that your membership is renewed indefinitely.
Donate A Car
Donate a Car Canada accepts Vehicle Donations for the Nanaimo & Area Land Trust Society. Free towing is provided in most areas across Canada, or you can drop off your vehicle to maximize your donation. When you donate your car, truck, RV, boat, or motorcycle to the Nanaimo & Area Land Trust Society through Donate A Car Canada, it will either be recycled or sold at auction (depending on its condition, age and location). Donate a Car Canada will look after all the details to make it easy for the Nanaimo & Area Land Trust Society to benefit. After your vehicle donation is complete, you will receive a tax receipt and we will put your gift to good use. Please click HERE to donate a vehicle.
Leave a Lasting Legacy

Will I receive a charitable tax receipt?
Yes. Donations of over $10 made directly to NALT will be issued a charitable tax receipt from NALT. If you choose to make your donation online through our partner Canada Helps (online donation form below), you will receive your charitable tax receipt directly from Canada Helps.
